Latest amendments to Annex II to End-of-Life Vehicles Directive
In November, the EU adopted a further directive amending Annex II to End-of-Life Vehicles Directive (2000/53/EC). It deals with the use of lead in various materials and components. The following exemptions were reviewed and amended:
- Exemption 2(c) has been split into two sub-entries, each with different review dates. Exemption 2(c)(i) concerns aluminum alloys for machining purposes with a lead content up to 0.4% by weight. This exemption will be reviewed in 2021. Exemption 2(c)(ii) regulates

EU Conflict Minerals Regulation will be applicable for all importers
After six years and many negotiations between the member states and EU institutions, an agreement has been put in place on conflict minerals. It is not in force yet, but is expected to be adopted by the end of 2016.
The negotiated compromise includes the following points:
- There will be a mandatory scheme for distributors and importers of tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold which also applies to smelters and refineries.
- It will be conducted according to OECD due diligence guidelines.

Since June 2016, the revision of Annex II of the ELV Directive is valid. Exceptions 8e, 8f, 8g, 8h, 8j and 10d of Annex II have been reviewed in 2014.
The following changes have been made (non-exhaustive):

Information from CLEPA Materials Regulations Event
In April, we were present with a booth at the CLEPA Materials Regulations Event in Kurhaus Bad Homburg as a Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) partner. We enjoyed the many interesting talks with customers and other visitors. Among other things, we were able to make a presentation showing how the IMDS a2 tool of HPE can be used to enter parts lists automatically in IMDS. We had lively discussions on the time saved as compared to manual entry, besides other advantages and problem-solving options
CAMDS - Material Data Entry for the Chinese Market
The CAMDS is the Chinese IMDS. When you as supplier for the automotive industry deliver parts to China and have to enter your data into this system you need to have knowledge about how to use it.
