According to a decision taken by the European Parliament on 20 May 2015, a majority of its members has voted in favour of a binding regulation requiring the submission of proofs regarding the use of conflict minerals across the entire supply chain within EU in future. If the EU Council approves it, the issue would not only concern companies listed on the US stock exchange and members of their supply chain, which are already obliged to disclose their use of conflict minerals (also within Europe)
