We congratulate the IMDS on its birthday
The IMDS celebrates its 20th birthday this year - wow. It all started when the automotive industry wanted to have a system to prove that they comply with the European End-of-Life Vehicle Directive (ELV). In the meantime, IMDS can do much more and has become an integral part of the everyday life of car drivers. It was a pioneer and is also a model for other systems for automated material reporting. The IMDS Steering Committee has decided that in the near future, standard data sheets for electronic components may no longer be used for reporting in the IMDS system as has been the case up to now.
