Ralf Dües, IMDS and REACH expert, provided information at the last IMDS Users' Meeting on the SCIP database, which ECHA will activate from 2020 on the basis of the Waste Framework Directive. From 2021 onwards, all products containing SVHC that are manufactured in the EU or imported into the EU must be registered in this database. The presentation is available in PDF format in our IMDS Infoportal.

In addition, Jonas Tilly of DXC Technology reported on the changes made to the IMDS next year:

  • Assistant for metallic materials Similar to the assistant for polymer materials
  • Multisourcing Specification of other MDBs from different suppliers
  • If a pure substance is not sufficiently contained, the corresponding application code is not displayed.
  • No default selection for application codes To avoid incorrect entries, the default selection is completely disabled.
  • Additional parameters for the quantity fraction (from to) for all pure substance use case analyses
  • New search option in the use case to find BMDs containing recycled materials
  • Standard contact person for companies
  • Warning for referenced temporary MDBs
  • Supplier ID in the search result

More information can also be found in the IMDS Infoportal (PDF presentation in German) and in the latest IMDS Newsletter.
